quickie black tank flush - rookie question March 18, 2016, 10:34:18 am Yahoo Message Number: 159438I read about this being done and would appreciate comments. You dump the black, then run the hose to the gray so the two tanks are connected. You open the gray so roughly half (?) of it runs into the black. When the pressures equalize (or slightly before) you dump the black again. Then you empty what is left in the gray and flush the hose. Is this a practical means of getting a quickie blank tank flush in a MB? Maybe a separate short hose would work better for the transfer part?Frank '16 MB

I don't know that I would want to take the chance on wast water from the black tank moving into the grey tank once the pressure equalizes (there will be some small amount of back and forth). Then there is the mess from the hose to wash down. For a mid bath better to refill the two tanks. A hose through the window going to the toilet and then sink or shower or if there is a line at the dump station go fill your fresh water tank and use the on board pump to fill the other two tanks (much longer and involved but your not blocking others from dumping or making a mess at the dump station). But I have not been at this as long as some others (only 3 or 4 years RVing). John 07 MB 1 Likes

I use in-tank flushers to keep both of the tanks clean. They have worked well for me, over 21 years of LD ownership. http://www.amazon.com/Camco-40123-Quickie-Flush-Preventer/dp/B000EDOSME They need to be used regularly to keep the jets clean and free of crud.Larry 1 Likes As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
