When it gets too hot and we need A/C for more than a few hours, we find electrical hookups or a cooler spot. Running a generator 20 hours a day is not pleasant. In the winter, we have plenty of onboard heat for limited cold weather trips. Extended cold weather trips usually will find us plugged in somewhere, part of the time. How much power do you need? Can't imagine needing so much power that a trailer mounted generator would be needed, unless it is powering a construction site, with many workers using it. There are real advantages to a built in generator that cannot be match by a portable. More than one owner here has traded his older, generator-less rig for a newer one that is equipped with a generator. After pricing out what it cost to have one retrofitted, it might be cheaper.Larry
