Re: Cell Phone Hot Spot vs Dedicated MiFi - II Reply #25 – February 18, 2016, 09:15:57 pm Yahoo Message Number: 158848EdIt's the same number we have had for decades. The other thing is while the cellular Home Phone works fine, neither of our cell phones, nor those of our friends, work consistently well here. My cell phone almost never rings while at home but as soon as I drive two blocks, it starts chirping. There is a hill between our house and the nearest Verizon tower. The Home Phone does have an exterior antenna, up near the roof and may use a different frequency than our cell phone, not sure why it work so well, it does use very little bandwidth.Another cool thing about a cell phone hotspot is that it's always with you. Both our iPads have cell capability but neither has an active account since either phone can provide WiFi, as long as the phone has an adequate signal. It's a pain to carry the MiFi with you, as well as a cell phone, I did it for several years. YMMVLarry
