Congratulations on your new Lazy Daze Kevin, I too am new here, and found the Yahoo user group interface bizarre compared to other forums. But the content here is far superior to the other RV forums and bulletin boards I have used over the years, and the moderation is professional.  You will feel like you belong in no time. Tell us more about your LD?

Well It is a local craigslist find.  We picked it for a great price.  The roof leaked at some point in its life I no for many that is a no go but for the price I think it is well worth it.  Previous owners dad had it for 15 years have it to his son and the son has had it for a couple years just decided they wanted to move on from RVing.  It has a few quirks like anything almost 20years old would.  We love the floor plan and the size.  Can I post photos in this conversation?  Or does it have to be in the photo section?

We picked up our first rv and LD 2 years ago (96 TK 23.5). We are not mechanical and had very little rv experience. Despite excellent care from previous owners, things did and do go wrong. Anticipating it we had a not to exceed budget for cosmetic changes, updates and repairs.
To date we have avoided the budget killers (new roof, new transmission). We have learned how to tell the age of the tires and decided for example that traveling at speed in high temperatures on 13 year old great looking tires was not safe, replaced them.
From reading the posts, you will learn a great deal about odds and ends of repairs. There is a wonderful amount of experience in this group and a wonderful willingness to help when asked. We know! Good luck to you and happy traveling! Sandy KalleAnka 96 TK Vt

Just an update got all the systems up and running great just had to change the control board on the fridge it was not working on gas.  Still need to fix a few clearance lights might be bulbs not sure yet.  Got the CB working but have no sound out of it not sure if it's the radio or the antenna.  The roof is pretty soft and likely needs replaced but not sure yet about tackling that project.

Congratulations on your progress.  I hope that soft roof doesn't turn you into an old LDer!  Btw, if you're between projects, it would be great to see some pictures of your home on wheels.  And looking forward to more updates.
