Re: MB Bathroom Door Replacent

Ed,
After replacing the bathroom latch on our 2001 RB several times, I replaced  it with a common cabinet magnetic catch.  It has been working fine for  several years, and is much easier to use.

Once we get back from tomorrow' s  short trip, I'd like to find a better made bathroom door latch that fits the  existing holes. I took the original latch apart to see why it wasn't working and  it's not a very strong latch IMO. If anyone has found an all metal or stronger  plastic latch, I'd like to hear from you.

What a great idea, Barry! I just did the same. I used two magnetic catches: one at the top and one at the bottom. (My midbath's bathroom door changes shape with the temperature and humidity, and it can bow out in the middle, but the door's top and bottom always touch the door frame.)

In addition, I used a larger magnetic catch to replace the plastic latch that holds the door open, separating the front and rear sections of my midbath. That one has broken several times, and I'm tired of replacing it. This is much better!
