Pricing is steep.  For that age I wouldn't pay much over $8k, but that's me.  We own a 1994 TK with 75,000 miles and I wouldn't expect to get much more that $8-10k simply due to its age.

Is the Chevy platform a dog?  We don't call ours Chug for nothing. We were passed by a Prius going up Teton Pass, hence the name.  That 350 engine (5.7L) is fine for the Midwest but simply won't do trying to climb the mountain passes out west.  I also wouldn't pull a toad with a unit like that.

My opinion from owning two 350 powered LD's.

I sold a 89 RB same color, mileage, engine, new flooring, tires, brakes, tranny, 2000W inverter gen last year for 9500, to the 1st person that looked at it. Pretty much what I had into it, and figured I  came out fine at that price. This 91 seems high,  but not surprising for a calif dealer.

--- IMO, the asking price of this LD is over by about $5000 or so. I'd hope to get as much input as possible on the desirability of this vintage LD on the Chevy chassis from of from former and current owners. (And, check the rig's overall condition and what needs to be repaired and replaced very carefully.) I agree that it's likely that the price is so marked up because it's being offered by a dealer. I'd pass; YMMV.

The ad says the retail price for this unit is $18,995!   So what we have here is a Dealer who thinks they can set an outrage retail price and then place the unit on "sale" for less.  If the OP is interested in this LD, I'd suggest they use the price information in the file section and comps from RV Trader.  The price in the file section is 1991 $8,507.  If this LD is in primo condition, perhaps it warrants a higher price?   Best of luck to the OP in your LD search.

As others have said, that unit is overpriced by about 50%. It looks clean, and if it needs NOTHING, 9-10k may be a good price given the milage. If tires are aged, and they likely are, lop another $1,000-$1,500 off.

I paid $4,500 for my 1989  22' MP (also Chevy Cab). It had 128k miles, was in much more average shape on the exterior, needed a water heater, and tires were aged but not to the point of needing an ASAP replacement.

Suspension wise, the Chevy platform of this vintage was considered better than the Ford. Mine handles far better than the Ford's I have driven.

The potential problem is that LD coupled the Chevy chassis with the venerable 5.7L (350 cid) while the Fords got the much larger 7.5L (460 cid).

I live in the Durango, CO area, and many trips in my 5.7 equipped LD start by climbing over Coal Bank, Molas, Red Mountain or Wolf Creek passes- some of the nastiest climbs in the US. I've found the 5.7 to do just fine grinding over these and I love the gas milage (I average 11, even on mountainous trips over these passes).

That said, you get only so much twist out of the smaller Chevy engine, and I wouldn't even think of running a toad. A 22' doesn't have much need for a toad anyways as it just isn't hard to get around in.

I have towed my boat trailer (about 1800 lbs) over these passes.

So. LD good, 22' good, Chevy suspension good,  5.7 not bad within reason, price really, really bad.

Why would someone buy an LD from a Stealership, oh I meant Dealership? You will not know the ownership history, documentation may be lacking, service records, etc. When I buy a vehicle I like to look at the environment. Does the owner keep up his/her property, other vehicles, etc.
On a dealer lot where do you hook up the electrical and water to check all systems? They may offer an overpriced warranty with a huge deductible and many exemptions you could get elsewhere cheaper. I doubt they would have the patience for a lengthy inspection like the 8 hr.s I spent before buying my LD.

we've been happy with our Chevy on our '92RB. ours is a 464 and handles fine in mountainous areas.
We're not full timers just vacationers in the Western states. That price is not that shocking for a dealer in California. They do up-price more than private party. Input about fully inspecting is right on. we purchased used and promptly put more money into our LD. But we did expect that.

Wow! The asking and sale price are high. I agree with a 50% reduction, unless it's ready for Pebble Beach. Or. Our RVs are worth a whole lot more than we think?

"Worth" is relative, i.e., limited to what a buyer is willing to pay. If a seller, dealer or private, can move a product (any product) at the asking price in whatever the selling area market is, that's what it's "worth".

BTW, although asking prices may be higher in some areas of CA, they are not consistent throughout the state; there are several variables that affect asking prices in different areas of a very large state. And, one of those factors is a seller hoping to attract buyers who may not recognize that a price *is* inflated.

As ever, YMMV.

Just looked at Oodles site of Lazy Days for sale, and see there are others also priced similarly. Like a 94 26M at a dealer with a "Ford 350 engine" whatever that is, at $17500. Also a few private party sales for seemingly similar prices. Maybe the market has gotten a lot hotter?

Earlier in the year Class Bs were selling as fast as they could be made, with some manufacturers quoting 12-18 month lead times for orders. Prices on this RV type seem to also be shooting up. The reason many analysts assert is that the avalanch of retiring baby boomers is gaining momentum. Who knows?

The  rig that's listed for sale at "RVs 4 less" at $14995 is the same one listed on eBay for $13995, ostensibly by the owner. There's a fairly recent issue CC number on the front of the overcab; those with a list of rig numbers could check to see who might own this rig, if interested.
