We will be needing to store our '01 RK sometime this February in the San Diego area for about a week.  Any suggestions?

Bob, This is what I have done when needing to store RV for a week or so. Stop by an RV Sales place and explain your situation. Ask them if you can rent a place on their lot for a nominal fee. Explain that the appearance of the Lazy Daze will increase foot traffic as it is not a mass produced product, and you get constant complements even by people who have not owned RV's. At the very least they get to hand out business cards to people who might not ever have stopped. It could plant a seed.

I don't think it's a stretch to say you get constant compliments, at least in my case. When I was filling up with gas the other day one of the woman employees said how nice it looked. At rest stops I have gotten lots of questions about the LD. One guy said it looked Art-Deco and wanted to know where to get one. If your as old as me you might remember the Rock Group "Steppenwolf". The lead guitarist offered to buy mine without even seeing the inside. And I have seen many LD's that look better then my old 2001 with it's battle scars.

No suggestions on a specific storage place, but a search shows several options in the general area, including the RV parks Campland and the KOA. I'd check for the closest, most convenient options for drop-off/pick up based on where you need to be before and after the rig's "down time".

The problem with the typical RV storage area is they want you to pay for a whole month and many require 10 days notice before you vacate. I ran into this last time I wanted to travel to Ecuador for 2 weeks. They also had a disclaimer they were not liable for theft or damage to the rig. No security increase vs. a lot. The Sales place I made a deal with had a fenced in barbed wire section. I paid $20 for 16 days. I gave them a bottle of wine so they would remember me for next time.

Check out Santee Lakes in Santee.  Nice CG.   Very popular.
