I was as skeptical as you Andy. A neighbor or my bought this and as used it for years and swore by it. He convinced me. I bought one four years ago and I am a believer. No hard water spots in kitchen or bath. I don't care if anybody here buys one or not, I'm just reporting what I know. I hate hard water.

I agree with Andy. The magnetic "water conditioners" are a scam. They sell the same thing to clamp around fuel lines trying to get people to believe that the molecules in the fuel will be somehow energized and burn more efficiently for better fuel mileage.

Just think, buy only one magnetic gizmo, put it on your fuel line while on the road and around you water pipe when you are at home!

However, hope does spring eternal I guess, and is doubtless why the "Willow Curve" $600 blinking red LED light scam has so many believers.

The ex-cop part of me hates to see people get ripped off almost as much as it bugs me to see people get away with stealing - - as that's what the purveyors of this worthless stuff are essentially are doing.

The saddest part of these scams is that people get taken in by them. Rather than admit they were taken they continue to propagate the hoax to other unsuspecting victims. People can deny science and physics, rather like sticking there head in the sand. Pride gets in the way of fact, and that is a fallacy.

"Magnets - A Surprisingly-Effective Anti-Mineral Treatment This may sound a little far-fetched to some people, but it has beenproven to work. By affixing a set of magnets to your incoming water line, you can reduce the scale buildup that normally occurs with high-mineral water. Apparently, the magnets modify the chemical behavior of the mineral ions for a relatively short period of time. We don't pretend to comprehend the physics or chemistry of it, we just know from personal experience that they work. Besides, they are the least expensive method of controlling scale buildup. We sell magnets here."

As always, YMMV.

Judy, What's a hanging "closet" gizmo you put in your closet.  You mean like a shoe hanger?

I really like the idea of anchoring with canned goods.  That half-height pantry doesn't hold much.

Paper towels - sometimes you need to double them up - also work well to protect stacked pans, lids, etc.  And somehow I ended up with a couple of wash rags made of some sort of fabric that was totally useless for washing, so I wrap our two awkwardly shaped ceramic mugs in them. Come to think of it, I have a friend who crochets a lot.  Maybe she'll make me a couple of super-sized mug socks.

When we first got our LD, I bought up all the little clear plastic baskets and trays they had.  You can see through them to see what's inside and they - almost - just fit on the shelves. Some even have little handles on the end which makes it really easy to lift them out from cabinets above stove & sink.

By the way, I also use a piece of velcro strap around the roll of paper towels while we're travelling.

What fun playing with all this! Susie
