Bug Protection - Outside Appliances

We're about done making some styrofoam vent/fan inserts for summer and winter insulation.  So I was thinking about making a couple of styrofoam inserts to protect the outside of the refrigerator and water heater components from insects while our LD is in outside storage.  I was wondering if anyone else has done anything to keep these areas bug free while in storage?  I know I'd have to add this information to our checklists prior to taking our LD out of storage, but we're very consistent about using checklists before, during and after trips (thanks to the file section herein).

We're also thinking about adding heat resistant insulation in the basement compartment above the truck's exhaust thanks to something I saw in mikecoachman3 97 photos.  Thanks in advance for your guidance.

HWH and Ref.  bugs Take a piece of thin sheet plastic(visqueen) Cut a piece about an inch larger then the door. Simply put the visqueen inside the door then shut the door on the visqueen.
Now the compartment is pretty well sealed.

I certainly like these suggestions.  So right now our LD has black bags over the access doors to the WH and the frig.  And it's hard to forget a black bag on the side of the coach and much easier than cutting and fitting a piece of styrofoam.  Bug free in Fort Worth!
