1998 Lazy Daze Paint Trivia October 13, 2015, 09:47:36 am Yahoo Message Number: 156342Hi Everyone, I'm home in Las Cruces after traveling since the first day of summer. It's good to be home. My last stop on the way home was the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. (If you've never been, it's totally amazing!) Someone in my group told me a couple came over and looked at my rig while I was away. The couple (I never got to meet them) said they could tell by looking at the outside that my rig was a 1998, and it was the year Lazy Daze "messed up the paint job." I don't consider myself to be "color challenged," but it looks gray and white to me (although sometimes the gray stripes take on a brownish cast in different light). They said the white is more like a "tinted sea foam green." Huh? To be "quite honest" it looks fine to me, and I couldn't care less. However, I had to chuckle over the observation.Cheers, Cheryl1998 26.5 mid-bath 2002 Honda CR-V

In any light, the "white" on that rig was definitely a "tinted sea foam green"! ;-)Joan

Re: 1998 Lazy Daze Paint Trivia Reply #4 – October 14, 2015, 01:27:12 am Yahoo Message Number: 156365I own one of those Lazy Daze motorhomes with the "special paint" job. The RV is a 26.5 foot Rear Bath model with nominally green and white paint. The Ford chassis is a late 1997 model and the LD coach is an early 1998 model. In late 1997 Ford changed from a cream color to a white color for the cab part of the cutaway van. It took a little practice for Lazy Daze to make the color change to match the new Ford white. A few units were manufactured with a slight green tint in the white paint. Over the years, the white paint looks a little more "greenish". In the past, I have seen four of these paint jobs at various venues. And like my Unit, they were all original LD paint jobs and looked just great (in my biased opinion).Just a little trivia, Joe Gibbs Jojoba Hills SKP Resort Aguanga, CA

He said that the tinted paint was a "mistake". It looks fine on my Teal rig, but not so much on the red ones (right Ginny?).I saw a grey LD at Sandia Casino in Albuquerque last week that had the green-tinted paint and I knew right away that it was a 1998.Nancy McKenna http://nancysroadtrip.blogspot.com/

It seems strange that a company building "quality" RV's would make such an error, and if so not volunteer to correct the mistake. I sort of feel like this issue is a LD "urban legend" as I don't see any "flaw."Cheryl 1998
