I Stand corrected. Since I only have an IPAD I assumed it would be the same. In any case Windows 8 left a bad taste in my mouth. It's time to move up.

I was not referring to Innovation, but reliability in the product and no need to constantly fix problems, i.e. bandwidth consuming updates, software patches, etc. My IPAD2 has never failed me, nor my IPhone. Wish my Windows P.C. were that reliable.

Have owned my LD for over 4 years now. Sum of problems is a burned out igniter board on water heater and a couple plumbing clogs. None of which were the fault of LD.

I was able to retrieve the missing files using the Windows 10 version of system restore, but lesson learned, get a backup device. Thanks to all that commented.
Now time to start shopping for a MAC. Those that get Windows 10 will notice an odd similarity to MAC IOS operating system. bobmoore14

Went down the same Dell road in 2005 and went over to MAC. Best choice I ever made! Currently have a fabulous Macbook Pro 15" with an internal 1-terabite flash drive (needed for my photo library). Wife has the Macbook Air w/512 GB flash drive. Add Applecare support and any problems are solved.

I have been a Windows-compatible computer owner since 1983. In 2007, I bought my first Apple computer, a MacBook Pro, with a 17" display and 2.4GHz dual core processor. Since then, I upgraded the RAM to 4GB (maximum), and replaced the hard drive with a SSD. I continue to use this computer in my LazyDaze, keeping the operating system at the latest level with free upgrades for a long time. My first two upgrades were a whopping $25.00 each. Each upgrade improved on its predecessor No Windows Vista or Windows 8 type problems.

In 2009. I added an iMac with 24" display, and 2.66GHz dual core processor. I upgraded the RAM to the maximum 8GB. This system, like my MacBook Pro, has been has been totally reliable, and is now my primary desktop. I still have one Windows type desktop computer that I repurposed as a FreeNAS server. I also have a HP laptop that I keep as a test bed when helping friends with their Windows or applications problems.

Before buying my first Apple system, I spent time working with Linux distributions on my desktop. I had done some programming in "C" and assembly languages on IBM/Windows compatible systems, but found Linux to be more enjoyable to work with. And compilers were free. Since the first release of Apple's OS X operating system, this operating system has had a historic relationship with Unix and BSD. This happened when Steve Jobs returned to Apple, bringing the Next operating system with him. The command-level programming language is almost identical to Unix, Linux and BSD. Apple has way gone beyond this with Automator and AppleScript, that allow non-programmers to create there own automated capability, such as running commercial apps on a schedule.

From my perspective, the last good Windows upgrade was Windows 7, before that Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows 3.1. I should be getting free Windows 10 upgrades for my two Windows 7 versions. Since many of my friends will be using it, I will test it to be prepared if called upon to help.

Eric,

I would take gentle exception to that. I think LD customers are after quality, and well thought out design first. LD provides both. It is not all that difficult to stand above the competition in the RV industry, as dismal quality and shoddy workmanship are standard features, most especially in areas the potential customer cannot easily see.

No question LD is "old school" and reluctant to change, unfortunately, even when that change may improve their product. There answer has often been, a) You don't need that, b) It costs too much, c) No

Here's just a few suggestions to improve the LD:

1) Hydro-formed aluminum corner caps - eliminate the issue or cracks and pulling apart.

2) LED lighting throughout.

3) Stainless steel sink and quality faucets.

4) Two roof to under floor empty conduits in closets etc. - allow convenient wiring of after market options.

5) Flooring options, like hardwood etc.

6) No wood exposed underneath (cab side steps, rear bumper etc) Replace all that with aluminum structure where applicable.

7) Strengthen rear receiver hitch to at least 5,000 lbs 500 lb tongue weight.

8) Bring back the ladder and rail (g).

9) Include engine heat to water heater option - come on, LD, this doesn't cost a lot more.

10) Add air horns to roof - okay, I wanted to make this ten suggestions and couldn't thing of another one.

Many years ago, we had a Freightliner FL-60 used to pull a large fifth wheel.  It had air horns that we did use on rare occasions.  There are times when I sure to miss them!

Bumper, #10 is a very desirable option, particularly if the "horn" could be programmed with a variety of "on the road admonitions" that could be broadcast in the appropriate circumstances! Right now, I just have to be content with yelling imprecations in the confines of the cab! ;-)

bumper, the 10th easily should be better drawer glides.
I would love to gewgaw up my LD with air horns but have only gotten as far as a Cowboy Cactus resting at the base of the radio antenna.

Our 2014 came with all LED lighting.  I don't know when they made that change, but you can take #2 off of your list.

I agree with the better drawer glides. I had to tighten the clamps on the output side of my 2003 RB's water pump this morning because of a very slow leak and a recycling water pump. I was impressed with the wiring and plumbing layout - Very professional and neat!

I was able to slide in the drawers, although the bottom one was a bit persnickity. Finally done! Put the clothes back in drawer 1, then in drawer 2; however drawer 3 would not budge! So now my bottom drawer is stuck in the closed position, and empty I might add. and I am unable to get to my water pump if it should start to leak again without doing major damage to the bottom drawer!

Going to need to think this through before I am able to open door #3

I agree with all of Bumper's suggestions (except number 10--the roads are noisy enough already!) and Chris's recommendation of better drawer suspension--the single-rail hardware that LD has used for the past thirty years or more is just plain flimsy.

I would add a few items:

12. Add some camber to the roof to eliminate "Lake Newton." With Lazy Daze's wooden framing, allowing standing water on the roof is just begging for trouble.

13. Switch from all-wooden to all-metal framing construction.

14. Bring back the escape hatch in Midbath, Twin/King and other models that used to have it.

15. Redesign the medicine cabinets in Midbath, Rear Kitchen and other models with similar bathrooms. These models used to have a mirror spanning the full width of the bathroom, which made for a large and bright feeling room. There was no medicine cabinet, but I was able to easily add one over the window.

But Lazy Daze took a different route in recent years: first they reduced the mirror to about a third of its former width, and then they stuck a cheap sheet-metal medicine chest in the middle of the larger empty remaining space. It has no mirror on its door, so the brightening and enlarging benefits are lost. It looks and feels flimsy. Its door is secured not with a latch, but with tiny dabs of Velcro. In short, it's cheap, ugly and nonfunctional.

There are several ways to add a medicine chest to that bathroom. There's the small one I placed above my rig's bathroom window. In another Lazy Daze, I and a friend added an off-the shelf wooden cabinet with mirrored door in front of the left side of the existing mirror, thus preserving the full-width mirror effect. Either of these methods would be far superior to what Lazy Daze is doing now.

Lazy Daze's conservatism has worked to customers' benefit in many ways, but it has also delayed some much-needed improvements.

My apologies, Chris--I posted before seeing your "Let's shut it down" message. I do think there's value in talking about what Lazy Daze should be doing to "improve the breed," as long as the suggestions are constructive and phrased in a civil manner.
