I  have a 1998 26.5 mid-bath and often when I'm driving the refrigerator vent cover on the side "flaps" violently.  Although it's closed, it makes quite a racket - especially in high winds.  I can actually see it "ballooning out" from the driver's seat.

I tried to remedy the problem by applying some double-edged foam tape to the inside edges all the way around the vent, but it only worked for a short time.

I notice this problem the most when it's very windy in New Mexico, and I'm traveling on the highway.

Has anyone ever had this problem, and if so any suggestions?

Thanks for any help...

Cheryl,  we have an 02 MB and we've also noticed this lately under the same high winds on the highway situations.  Does anyone have a solution?

Helen

This should be easily fixable.
Two things.
There should be plastic bumpers, at the corners of the frame, that contact the door and keep it from rattling, when closed.
The latch can be adjusted (bent) to hold the door tightly in position.

Some well placed pieces of medium density stick-on foam rubber tape should help, especially if the plastic bumpers are missing. Something like this.
