Removal of Winegard manual satellite dish from '11?

I never use this dish.  I'm considering removal for more room for solar panels.  A couple questions-

1.  Is this a well-liked option which is desirable for resale?  Or not?  I plan on keeping rig for years more but I also don't want to remove something which could be a selling point.

2.  Logistics of removal- I would assume aluminum roofing material would be sealed over the hole on outside.   Can the interior controls and trim remain once antenna is removed?  Or is the hole quite small and some kind of a cover plate positioned over the hole?

Regarding your question 1:  IMO, the manual satellite dish is obsolete.  Oh sure, it'll work, but for DirecTV, you'll get just SD programming, no HD.  And with Dish, while it will pick up their HD, since it only *sees* one satellite, you'll either have to re-aim the dish each time you change channels, or select one channel to watch all the time which cuts down on your selection of channels.
If it were my rig, I'd immediately replace the manual satellite dish with a Winegard Trav'ler, but since you want to put on another solar panel, don't worry about removing it.  There are other options for those who want to watch satellite TV...an automatic dome (which has all of the same problems as the manual satellite dish I described above other than it will automatically toggle between the three Dish satellites depending on which channel you select), or a ground-mounted (usually on a tripod) open-faced, multiple-LNB dish.

The satellite dish is an option and should not effect the future sealing price. Dishes have been removed from many LDs, in search for additional roof space for solar.
The roof can be sealed with sheet aluminum. Once the antenna is removed, there will be an interior hole that can be covered with a painted or white cover plate or plug. It will blend in.
