Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2015

Lynn and I are going to coordinate the gathering of the Lazy Daze clan at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in 2015.  We've talked with Jeanne and she is going to hand it off to us.

She started the planning process last year at about this time, so...

If you are interested in attending the 2015 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, their web site reports the start on Saturday, October 3 and concluding on Sunday, October 11.  There are usually two or three reduced price days at the front end, as I recall.

If you are interested, please email us at lazydazerv [at] gmail dot com and we will get you on the list for notifications and, eventually, registration.  Please email us and do not rely on posting here to get you on the list.

We're also starting up a Yahoo group for information and updates.  More on that later.

This is a laid-back, unstructured gathering of Lazy Daze folks at the ABQ Balloon Fiesta.  You don't have to be there for the entire event.

Hopefully, this bumps this conversation back to the top.

It's the first of May.  I'll make these notifications at the first of each month up to and including July.

If you are interested in joining the Lazy Daze group at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta this year (2015) then please email me at lazydazerv [at] gmail dot com.  I'll get you on the list.  If you have already sent me a request then I've got you on the list.  If you want me to confirm it, send me an email anyway.

Last year was our first experience and it was great!  This is an unstructured gathering of Lazy Daze folks and it has much to recommend it even apart from the great experience of the Balloon Fiesta.

We are away from home base right now on the Route 66 Fun Run having a blast with a couple thousand old car and hot rod enthusiasts who have done this for the last 28 years.  Back home on Monday.

Another first-of-the-month bump for this thread.

If you are interested in attending the 2015 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta with the Lazy Daze group, send me an email and I will put you on the list.  We are getting close to the time when we will need to finalize our reservations.  I think that will happen next month.  I think the current list is around 11 rigs.

This will be the last call for reservations for the Lazy Daze group at the 2015 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.  If you would like to be there with the group, please send me an email with your name and email contact to the following:  lazydazerv [at] gmail dot com.

I have a list of ten rigs that have expressed an interest in attending.  I will send out an email to all of you on this list in about a week.  That email will request your registration information along with payment for the dates you will attend.

Here's the breakdown:

Monday, 9/28, Tuesday, 9/29, Wednesday, 9/30 and Thursday, 10/1 are 1/2 price days:  $15.00 Friday, 10/2 to Saturday, 10/10 (inclusive) are full price days:  $30.00 Sunday, 10/11 is a 1/2 price day:  $15.00 Everyone is expected to be out and gone on the morning of Monday, 10/12.

Lynn and I are planning to get there mid-day on Monday, 9/28 to get the group site ready.

Drinking water for your fresh water tanks was available on site last year.  Most of us dumped black water tanks for free at a nearby Giant station at 3603 Alameda Blvd NW which is about 3 miles one way from the RV grounds.  (Other options are available)  Portable toilet facilities were also available right next to our group site.

I'm trying my best to live up to the stellar reputation of last year's group coordinator - Jeanne Bold.  ;^)

I have today ended our efforts to put together a Lazy Daze group at the 2015 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. There has been an insufficient response to warrant the effort necessary to put this together.  In all, not counting Lynn and me, there was only one other person/rig that sent me the necessary reservation fees.  There was one other person/rig that inquired late about the group but even if that person/rig had followed through on time, still not enough for a group.

In all, eleven rigs expressed an interest in being in a group this year and when the call for action went out, over 50% of those backed out.  There was four that evaporated and never responded to several emails inquiring about their desire to commit.

There were at least two rigs from last year's group that were going to be in the area during the BF and indicated that they would drop by to visit a group during the day but not to camp with the group.

We had a very nice group last year for the 2014 BF.
