Where do you store your LD? How do you protect from rats?

Hello all,

I live in a single apartment near Dodger Stadium. The parking on my street like Jon and Loni is at a premium. You two are lucky to even park your LD on your street to wash and load. I tried twice to park my 2003 23.5 Rear Bath LD(RedSky) near my apartment. Both times I was met with irate property owners coming of their houses, yelling and screaming at me saying they would call the police if I legally parked my LD in front of their houses. I think it's called Nimby(Not In My Back Yard) Syndrome. So I can not and will not attempt to park my LD in my neighborhood again.

Instead I park my LD in an open air boat and storage lot in Burbank. Jon and Loni park their LD next to a freeway, my spot is between a power station on the one side and a stormwater channel bordered by Metro Link Rail Line. So yes I experience all the soot from the diesel trains passing by many times a day from countless commuter trains. When I have too wash my LD I must take it to one of those spray car wash places. When I wax it I take it to a park. If I need to use a buffer I will take it to a wide open area in Griffith Park and use the generator for electricity. To load my LD I must load up my 99 Tacoma and drive to the storage lot. The lot is about 10 miles from my apartment. For all my inconvenience I pay $180 a month.

That is a lot of money in MHO to pay to park your LD out side. After seeing the some ofthe post yesterday, I started looking around on line.. I don't live that far from you.. I know there is a place in the valley thats wants an arm & a leg $370 a month but inside.. I found a couple for $270 inside and one if if you rent for 3 months for 170 inside.. the $170 was in Orange county. There was one.. $270 that also was aways but they start you rig, when you come back from trip they dump, when you go on a trip they get everything ready for  you like fill your tanks, check this out etc.. I have a house and parking I just don't want to park it outside uncovered.. By the way, I don't have a LD yet, still looking. Maybe I might just have a carport built.. it may be cheeper in the long run..

We live in So California and made the decision before we took delivery of our 2013 31' TB that it would NOT be stored outdoors in the heat here, as our two previous SOB's were.  Did lots of researching and chose a business that stores RV's, boats and collectible autos in a very, very large warehouse that is immaculately clean.  As part of the service they wash the rig when returned from a trip, wash it when you schedule to come pick it up for a trip and dump the tanks.  For additional fees they will fill the propane tanks and gas tanks.

When they prepare the rig for you to pick up, they check the tire pressure, turn on the refrigerator (if you request it....the day before) and fill the fresh water tank (again, if requested and to the level you request).  They also have a related business that does maintenance (I've used them to change the engine oil and the generator oil).  They will start the generator on a monthly basis and if you need to (again requested) will plug in to ramp up batteries.

Unbelievable service that we are very happy with....not cheap as you can imagine at $300 per month...but worth it to us, especially given my limited time to wash the rig....

my two cents,
