Verizon Allset plan

Those of us who have intermittent data use needs may want to consider the Verizon Allset plan. It is a pre pay plan that provides unlimited voice and text plus 0.5gigs of data per month. The nice feature is that you can add data to the plan whenever you need it. 3 gigs of "bridge" data costs $20 and you have 90 days to use it. When it runs out you can add more data immediately so you never pay for data you don't use. It works great for me because I don't use much data when I'm at home, but I use a lot when I'm traveling.

The Verizon employees at a company store that I worked with were not aware that it was available, but I persisted and I now have the plan on my iPhone 6 which I bought at the Apple store and brought to Verizon to set up. If you want this plan you must have a Verizon phone and you cannot do it online. I recommend using a company owned store and be aware that you have 14 days to cancel or make changes to your plan without penalty.

Verizon also offers a 4GB/month plan for $40, which is the basis for my "More Everything" plan.  $50/mo turns it into 6GB.  Since all of my devices on Verizon are data only, the smallest bucket offered is 4GB.
My phones are on AT&T,  devices on either carrier support tethering, so I can go either way, depending on the circumstances.
