Wheel Lugs and Wheel Covers

Searched forum but could not find info on the subject.  I am sure that it is in there someplace but I just don't know what search criteria to use.

I have a 2013 E-450 chassis that has hub centric wheels.  Previously had a 2005 E-450 chassis and if I recall correctly it had lug nut centric wheels.  Am I remembering things correctly?

What I am really trying to do is purchase wheel covers for the 2013 E-450.  The 2005 E-450 had Kaper KII (?) wheel covers and I liked them.  However, the wheel lugs on the 2013 chassis do not allow the use of this type of wheel cover.  Looks like I can only use the "snap on" covers.  Any advice?

If they are like the covers my previous SOB had, I would not get them.
The covers had to be removed to check the lug nuts, and it was very difficult (impossible?) to add air or check the air on the inner duallies. Also, very hard to remove and install, so I left them off - not as pretty, but so much easier to check lug nuts and air.
 At the time, I didn't have a TPMS system, but I suspect they would have interfered with the signal from the sensors on the tire valve stems.

Doug, maybe  #923 or #7030 on this page http://www.hubcaps.org/fordvan.html might work?

I've been tempted many times to just dump the cheesy wheel covers and paint flowers on the rims and maybe little faces on the lug nuts! ;-)

Having the Borg Extended Tire Stems installed will solve this problem. No leaking/chafed air hoses to worry about either. I had mine installed for $45 labor.

I think that with almost all wheel covers you must remove the cover to get access to the lug nuts.  I know that this was true with the Kaper KII covers on my 2005 LD.  It appears to be true with most of the covers that I have investigated.  I really hate to use "snap on" covers as they have a habit of coming off to easily.
