Hi; Greetings from rainy Bouse, AZ.  I am getting ready to replace my 3g VZ mifi with a newer 4g device.  I need more gb minutes and a newer unit is required.  I find two units of interest online.  Both are called VZ Jetpacks with the numbers 5510L and 6620L.  I can get the 5510L for free while the 6620L will cost me.  Would anyone have opinions of each?  Also, can either be used with my Wilson Sleek?  I am wondering if the 6620 will be able to fit into the Sleek cradle.

Advice?

Thanks, Mike

Most new smart phones have built-in WiFi Hot Spots.
In the past we had a Verizon Jetpack that was used when traveling, now we use one of the phone's Hot Spots The iPhone can provide several WiFi connections at a time..
You can buy data for a phone in any amount..

Depends on whether or not your Wilson Sleek is a 4G model or just 3G.

What you want in a Sleek is something like this:

I'm not familiar with the two MiFi devices you mentioned, so can't speak to your questions about them.

"can either be used with my Wilson Sleek?"

As Linda pointed out, which Sleek do you have?. You most likely have a 3G model.
To utilized 4G, a 3G Sleek need to be replaced with a new 4G Sleek or other 4G amplifier, the 3G stuff is becoming obsolete.
Both Jetpacks and smart phones can be placed in the Sleek's adjustable cradle.
You could also use a wireless amp that does not require a direct contract to the phone or device.

Hi again; As usual I left out some facts...My Sleek is the 4G model.
I am nearly deaf and cannot hear on phones.  Therefore, I do not use cellphones or smartphones.  I merely want a mifi device switching to the newer 4g models.  I hope that clarifies matters somewhat.  A new plan should provide 4gb or 5gb of data which should satisfy us.  The Sleek has been a wonderful help here on the desert this winter.
Anyone one to sell a used 4g jetpack? Mike

I just replaced our mifi and considered these two as well. There is a good review of three which includes the two you are talking about here.  Comparison: Verizon XLTE Jetpack/Hotspots - MHS291L, 5510L, 6620L vs Ellipsis MHS800L

I ended up with the MHS291L. One plus for any of these units is that they will work on Verizons new XLTE network which promises to be much faster than LTE. It has been rolled out in numerous cities at this point.

the 510 is strictly 4g  while the other one is both 3G  and 4g.  , plus has a longer battery life. We have used the 4g unit from Michigan to Texas to Florida without any difficulty. We find the jet back more useful than using the cellphone hotspot.
