"can a dimmer switch be added to existing ceiling lights in the LD?"

Chris

While sold as a dimmer for LEDs, this should work on incandescent bulbs too.

Google '12-volt LED dimmer' for many choices. You do want to make sure the dimmer's rated amperage output is greater than the bulb's usage.

This 12-volt dimmer has a remote control.

A lot of choices out there

I should have clarified that I was looking for something for the fluorescent tube lights and after searching have discovered that the fl. bulbs have to be marked "dimmable" for a dimmer to work. I have not check the LD's bulbs but I don't think they are. Thanks for your response.

Convert the fluorescent tubes to LED tubes or strips and then use an LED dimmer.
You will save a lot of electricity doing this
