If I may point out .... A sign that says you are a member of the NRA will tell other folk that you may have firearms on board.  They might just want to break in just to steal said firearms. For me and mine I'll just be aware of my surrounds.  If I don't feel safe I'll just start the engine and move to a place were I feel safe.

Sorry Jo:
My brother is not a NRA member or even own a GUN. He has no decals related to guns.
The 2 young men were just hunting for a place to brake into. After ringing the door bell they felt there was no one home and would have an easy mark.
The end to that story is that the sister-in-law could see the men from the up stair window what were trying to brake in through the back door. She was not worries that they could get through the door even if they got it open. There was a refrigerator setting in front of the door. They did not use the door.  She called the police and there was a patrol car at that time on the next street.
The police drove up with no siren going. Walked around to the back door with guns in hand where the 2 men had the screw driver in the door frame trying to force it open. And ask " CAN WE HELP YOU".

The newest thing going on here in Denver is that the person watchs you pull up into the drive way at night and walks up to you and robs you. Onother men walked out the front door to get in his BMW parked in the drive way to go to work. They beat him with a gun and then sold his car.
There have been at least 5 similar cases in the last week reported on the news

I have to laugh Geroge.. sorry.  If two young men were try'n to get into a house with "Screw Drivers" and there  was a sign that read member of "The NRA" then they must have been "drink'n too  many screw drivers" *;) winking

JO

My sisters-in-law on her days off would not answer the door; she did not want to  be bother by some one. One morning there was a knock at the front door. She was  in the upstairs bed room and did not want to be bothered and did not go to the  door. A few minutes later she heard a noise at the back door. Two young men were  there trying to force the door open with large screw drivers.

Remember  it is better to be tried by 12 than carried by  6.

I understand George.. I didn't mean for this to be about Guns and why I won't comment any futher.  And Glen, that's the best idea that was written "For me and mine I'll just be aware of my surrounds.  If I don't feel safe I'll just start the engine and move to a place were I feel safe."

I don't fell that this had any thing to do with gun. It has to do with how to prevent theft. My Honda 1000 gen growing legs and walking off. It seams that Q has a bigger problem with this than most places. At home I have several signs that there is an alarm system and security doors to make most thieves want to move on to the next house. An NRA sign makes them want to brake in all the more.

I understand George. The reason I didn't want to reply back about "guns" is because My beliefs are different then yours. I did not want to go any futher on that subjuct because this is about LD not guns, That's all.. My orginal post was kind of a joke and then it took on a mind of it's own or could have anyway.

As far as Quartzsite be'n a place were things are stole'n. I never had that experience and I've camp there with different groups over the years. Im look'n forward to going there this come'n Monday for a week. Hope to see some of you there.

Happy Sunday! There are around 20 LD rigs here in Q. Weather this year has been exceptional. Little to no wind. Our 3rd year here with LDer's and our 7th year total. NEVER have had anything stolen, we've always done group camping here and neighborhood watch prevails. The RV tent show started yesterday and was crowded as usual. Had prime rib at the Main Street Eatery last night and I can honestly say it was the best we've every had. This place is not for everyone, but if you enjoy different it's the place to be.
