I finally talked myself into buying a Foretravel ! We bought a beautiful 36', 2003 single slide. We decided we were getting old enough that we were sitting in one spot longer, and traveling less, so comfort gained in importance to us.

I just finished removing the old analog bedroom TV, and installing a battery monitor, and during the project I found that the electrical installation workmanship in the FT is no where near the quality found in the LD. Much mor like a Gulfstream...and I don't mean the jet.

We are keeping the LD safely locked in the barn until we make a few trips in the beast, I just hope the electrical isn't indicative of the rest of the construction !

A  unique thing about Foretravel wiring is that every wire is marked along its length with a number.  If you want to know where the other end of a wire is just look it up in the manual that goes with the coach.  My first impression of Foretravel wiring was much like yours.  After I spent some time with it, I found it is really well done.  The runs may not be neatly wrapped every few inches but you don't need to guess what any factory installed wire is for.  The wiring diagrams are excellent.

After 4 years with a 2000 Foretravel U320 we decided that we are really Class C folks and now own a 2015 Born Free Triumph Royal 4wd diesel.  It is one fantastic unit with the luxury touches the big rigs have but on a nimble and powerful Ford F550 chassis.

We've owned 2 LDs and 2 FTs.
We loved both our LDs, and consider An LD as the only motor home I'd buy other than a FT, but I never occurred to me that LD quality exceeded that of FTs.

In fact, after we got our first FT I was impressed with the FT walk-thru bath. Since our first LD was a mid bath, I made different layouts showing how an LD could have such a walk-thru.

Your FT is by far unique in my experience. There are many 20 to 30 year old FTs out there that owners love and admire.

best, paul
