Recalling a message about a lubricant
Yahoo Message Number: 149162
I'm recalling a recent (last few months) message that included lubricating with an oil that doesn't collect dust and get gummy like WD-40. The number 303 keep coming to mind, just not to my full memory. It's for a bicycle.
Thanks much.

Firstly, WD-40 isn't a very good lubricant for much of anything. Oh, you can use it in a pinch to help un-stick something, or use it as a so-so cutting oil for drilling.

To answer your question, though, what part of a bike are you lubricating?

For bearings, I prefer synthetic grease, Mobil-1, Super-Lube, or the like.

For a quick spray lube, Super Lube Spray, or Tri-Flow.

For the chain, I prefer to make my own, a 50-50 mixture of 90 weight synthetic gear oil and mineral spirits. This penetrates the chain well, and then the mineral spirits evaporate leaving the thicker gear lube behind. A little goes a long way, but it's good to clean and lube the chain every couple of hundred miles on a road bike.
