Time for Another Water Pump Story
Yahoo Message Number: 148642
All of a sudden yesterday our water pump started making a horrendous racket. When I went to check on it I found that it was in a self-destruct mode. Three screws holding the upper valve assembly had come completely out and others were loose. On the mounting board holding the pump was a pile of fine particles, evidently the result of the pump's efforts to destroy itself.
Here is a photo of what it all looked like.

Fortunately when I had given up on the Smart Sensor pumps, Shur-Flo sent me two Revolution 4008's as replacements. I installed the first one 4 years ago next month, and had the second one tucked away as a spare. An hour later, all was well, with a much more quiet flow of water.
One note: when installing the strainer, make sure that it is securely tightened in its housing. Mine was not and leaked a lot of water.
