I had a run in with a medium sized rock and the house step. The label shows it to be a Kwikee. I checked their website to try to ID it but none of the single non-electric steps are 21 5/8" across. Anyone know if LD used a custom one? This is on a 2006 MB. Thanks. Jim Sadler

Jim A large percentage of older LDs have smashed and repaired steps.
The manual steps are simple devices and often smashed steps can be repaired with hand tools.
It takes less than five minutes to remove the four nuts securing it to the LD.
A local welding shop would be a good place to get it straightened out, if you need to have it done.

Hi Jim, We also had an encounter with a curb that was left lying too close to the lane of traffic (:-/). We were pleasantly surprised that it could be fixed. In our case, Erik's RV in Sequim did the job in about 15 mins.
Good luck! Sandy

I recently tangled with a 2x6 which bent my electric steps to one side, allowing them to only close part way. A storage unit neighbor had his step repaired at the Camping World collision center. I stopped by to make an appt. and the shop mgr. said it would only take 15 minutes to straighten them. He said let him eat lunch and he'd straighten them. He used a ratcheting device on a metal rod and ratcheted them into shape. 15 minutes later and a minimum charge of $45 and the steps were perfect. Great service!Chris2002 30' IBArvada, CO (Denver)

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll take it by a welding shop and see if it can be fixed and call LD for pricing info. Thanks again. Jim Sadler
