hello, i just noticed that my new to me LD has a Recair swamp cooler. i got all the electrical side of things working but cant get water to it. i assume there is a shut off valve somewhere in the coach, anyone know where that valve may be hiding?

thanks,

James, in my old 1985 twin/king the cutoff valve for the swamp cooler was in the compartment beneath the fridge, up near the top of the compartment. If your LD is a different floorplan, the valve may be elsewhere.

On my 1991 22' Twin King the valve is unter the sink at the top left corner of the opening.
I finally got it open to get water to the cooler But the valve leaks so will need service or replacement.

I hope this is helpful.

Bill,

If the little valve is leaking around its shaft, try tightening the "packing gland nut" that's just under the T-handle . . . back off the T-handle a few turns, then tighten the nut snug - not too tight.  It's also possible to get new packing for the valve gland. Usually it's just a bit of graphite coated string available at any hardware store.
