I can totally relate to Windows 8 driving you crazy. That's the way I felt when I got my new Lenovo Ideapad. Being Windows certified from a prior life in the IT world I hung on and learned Windows 8. It's not as good as the MAC IOS operating system but is more stable then Windows 7 IMO. The Mac is so expensive and I used that money to buy other goodies. I guess it all comes down to patience. It was easier when I could blame Bill Gates for everything, but he turned out to be a good guy dumping millions into charities. You never know.

Larry,

The Wilson 460101 does require 30' of either horizontal or vertical separation (according to the link posted). However, in practice, due to the antenna's radiation pattern, vertical separation is much more effective than horizontal separation. And an aluminum roof is even better yet!

I've been using an older 30 foot separation amp (3G) in my LD with about 1 foot of vertical and 8 feet of horizontal separation (oh and that aluminum roof) for a number of years with no issues. I did try parking right up next to a metal airplane hangar, so the signal could bounce off and back to the other antenna - - - that did interfere as one would expect.

The instructions say it comes with a 6V AC/DC power supply.
