app question, tire question

1.]        I have Samsung S4...anyone know of an app that tells you  orientation of your rig? Obviously, want to point east/west when I  park to get maximum solar, and can't always tell when I pull in late..?

2.]            Now that I have the Tpms, {trucker]...I am finding it
very interesting to watch the pressure and temp as I drive.
When I first got it, they told me to set the alarms at 12/15psi above my starting pressure, temp at 125 degrees. Silly me, I didn't want my tires to get that much pressure build up, so I set them at 5 psi...and the alarms started up within about 5/6 miles!!  Imagine my surprise when that increase seems to be the NORM for them, fronts and duals.
Here's my question...I start out with the fronts @70psi, and the duals @80psi.
That was set at about 1000 ft., [this time in Glendale, AZ]. By the time I was part way to Flagstaff, the fronts had gone up to 80, and the rears to 93/94 averaging 1-2 lbs.psi difference with the inside pass.. outside pass. being the highest..[exhaust?] The temp was pretty level...91/95 degrees, rear, 75/80 fronts. It was hot in Phoenix when I left....90 degrees....and the tires were already pretty warm to start with.
By the time I had stopped half way to Flagstaff the temps outside had dropped to around 70 degrees [it's 68 here now in Flag.]...and ALL the tires psi had dropped back half way to the starting pressures.
They stayed that low for the next 80 miles or so, so I'm *assuming* the higher the outside temp, the higher the psi will be. Still trying to work out what to set the tires at, when I know the higher I go from sea level, the higher the psi will be as I drive.

Boy do I LOVE this system tho...so nice not to have to crawl around checking air now! And the more I drive on these TOYOs, the better I like them. Haven't lost a lb. of air since their installation...done in Grass Valley, CA. in May.

Since I travel up and down hill, constantly..I have to settle on WHERE I set my PSI and *if* I need to change that if I'm going a fair amount lower, or a fair amt. higher elevations *in a day*.

Is this about the same for those of you in the 30ft. IB.?

We never worry about going uphill or downhill or outside temperature.
We always set our tire pressure in the morning before traveling according to the information on the driver's door (or per an inflation table if we've weighed each tire position).

Set it and forget it.
The beauty of a TPMS is that you can scroll through the readout before traveling to see your tire pressures.  If you check them throughout the day, just check to see if each tire is approximately the same pressure/temperature.  If you see a huge difference in one tire, that's the time to be concerned...but if they're all within a pound or two of each other, don't worry about it.

There's this thing called a "compass"... you can usually find them in the camping section at Walmart. Not high-tech, but it works. ;-)

The app you want is Smart Compass by Smart Tools.  It's free.  I love it because you can look through the compass at an object and read the direction on the compass.
Another one to add to your library is Trimble Outdoors Navigator.  The free one.

There are also apps in the Samsung store.  I downloaded one for my Samsung not 3 that wasn't worth the cost of the electrons.  Another was much better -combination of compass and level both.
Thanks for the words about the TPMS- mine is in a box on the way to the mothership. Pick up the 31IB on the 28th.

Just tried the Sun Surveyor Lite..man is that one GREAT app! It shows the exact line of the sun, all the details of where I'm at, degrees lat/long, address, zip, etc...it's a LOT more than a mere compass. Thanks Jim!
There's a second, Sun and Moon Surveyor as well [both free] wonder if it is a great for lining up for moon lit nights??
