Searching for the right LD floor plan

We really liked the 1992 22' TK with a Chevy 350 floor plan with exception that my husband was not very comfortable in the drivers seat. The bathroom wall is right behind the seat and didn't allow him to recline the seat as far as he would like. All the other LD I have been seeing for sale are Ford...does the Ford have more room for a tall driver? The other floor plan that we like is the 27' MB but this also has the refrigerator right behind the drivers seat. So we are not sure these layouts would be comfortable for long trips. We all REALLY like the two couches in the back for the view while driving. Most of the units I am seeing for sale have a couch with two chairs across from it and my husband doesn't think the couch will be wide enough for us both to sleep on (our son gets the overhead bunk). Do any of you have this layout and would be willing to measure the bed dimensions (both directions) for us?

I have not compared the Chevy room to Ford room myself, but everything I read on various RV boards indicate that the Chevy has more room for the driver.  We have the MB floor plan on the Ford E450, and had the same concerns as you about long trips.  However, after driving our unit home from the mothership to the East Coast, the room/comfort issue did not amount to much.  Since, we have done another trans US trip without much in the way of comfort issues.  But, we stop every few hours to stretch our legs. Our MB has the two couches in the back.  They slide out towards each other, and can meet to form one large King bed if you want.  We move them out but keep enough separation to allow for an isle between.  If you are interested in specs and measurements, they can be found on the Lazy Daze web site.  You can compare the numbers between various models if you wish.  Wishing you success.

I have the same problem, so when I found my 2003 23.5', Ford E-450, Lazy Daze with a Front Lounge Floor Plan, I bought it. It has two barrel chairs behind the driver's seat which are moveable allowing me to move the driver seat further back. Being able to move the barrel chair, I could tilt the driver seat further back to. It made a world of difference although the foot area still seems tight compared to my 1988 For F-250 P/U Super Cab. I see that SOB has started to build their Motorhomes on a Ford F-550 chassis which will give the buyer a whole lot more leg room. The F-550 engine is out front like a P/U where the E-450 engine in mounted next to you limiting your leg and foot space.

In 2008 Ford stretched the cab area 6 inches.  Last fall I got the opportunity to sit in the cab of a newer MidBath and was surprised how big a difference those inches made.  The owner of that unit was much taller than I.

I can help with mid-bath measurements on our '01.  Truck is coming out of storage tomorrow to prepare for a Spring-time ramble.  Timing will be good to measure and describe.

Please let me have your email and we can comm in a day or two. jpwoodruff at gmail.
I too would be more comfortable with more driver seat room.  That is a trade I'm OK with.   I just drive fewer miles to the next camp.

I have the 24' front dinnett. One of the first things that I learned was to move the lounge chair in closer to the table before getting in the drivers set to get more room when driving. And when I set up camp I move the drivers set all the way forward to get more room for the lounge chair This makes and big difference in comfort.

When I read about a few complaints about leg room I feel blessed to have a set of short legs. Our 2001 MB suits my legs well.lol
