Installing a surge protector on a TK model March 16, 2014, 10:34:07 am Yahoo Message Number: 145352I'd like to install a EMS-HW30C protector in such a way as to protect the coach from both shore and generator power issues. Has anyone done this on a 24' (23.5')TK model? What is the location and procedure? Mine is a 1995. Thanks

Due to variations between model years, I can't tell you where exactly to put it but it will fit into an empty spot, inside the cabinet, near the power center. To wire it requires finding the hot output wire from the transfer switch, accessing it from the inside of the power center,. Remove its wire from the 120-VAC main, (inside the power center) and splicing an additional length of wire to it. Next run the extended transfer switch wire to the surge protector's input . The surge protector's output is then returned and connected to the same 120-VAC main (inside the power center) that the transfer switch was originally wired to. Neutral and ground wires also have to be provided to and from the surge protector. I use two pieces of 12-2 Romex wire for this. Run the remote indicator wire to the desired location for the readout, mount the panel and plug in the wire. This will provide protection for both shore power and generator power.Installation guide http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&ved=0CD4QFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rvpowerprotection.com%2FManuals_files%2FManual-HW30C.pdf&ei=TrwlU9aJDtHioASv3YK4Aw&usg=AFQjCNF9_jqhJNNckPax7o6x5GuvOKqi9Q&sig2=WaF8t1c1seWlVNXd6f0N7gLarry
