Older Rigs February 23, 2014, 03:53:16 pm Yahoo Message Number: 145107Hi y'all,We were looking at taking our rig to Phoenix and noticed that a lot of private parks don't allow models older than 1986, is this common across the country or just an Arizona thing. We own a 1986 LD and are concerned about running into trouble because it's older.Cindy T.

If you plan to stay in private RV 'parks' rather than in public campgrounds, you might want to check the RV Park Reviews website and the websites of the parks you want to stay in for any specific rules and restrictions which may apply. If there's any doubt, call the place and ask.*Most* of the time - unless the place is an upscale 'resort' that caters to a specific target market - you shouldn't have a problem finding an acceptable RV park with an older rig that's in good repair and looks 'presentable'. ;-)Joan
Re: Older Rigs Reply #2 – February 24, 2014, 08:59:44 am Yahoo Message Number: 145112Its pretty common in many fancy parks. Often they never ask as long as your rig looks nice. Never been an issue at any park I would want to stay in.... Of course i'm not very fancy..
Re: Older Rigs Reply #3 – February 25, 2014, 04:45:07 pm Yahoo Message Number: 145136If you have a well-kept, nice-looking LD that is older than an RV park's age restriction, I would simply give them that age that's required to get in and say "in your face!" A non-LD owner can't tell the age differences anyway. The hell with those snobs. Obviously, if you have an antique or a POS, this effrontery won't work.Chris - with a 2002, nice-looking, well-kept 30' LD
Re: Older Rigs Reply #4 – February 25, 2014, 06:24:38 pm Yahoo Message Number: 145138A couple if years ago a ranger at RMNC approached our 2008 FD from the rear and asked me how long it took us to restore our rig. He was amazed to learn that it was nearly new so I showed him the front of the cab. That old style paint job fools a lot of folks.
Re: Older Rigs Reply #5 – February 26, 2014, 11:23:48 am Yahoo Message Number: 145144Yes! We also have an older rig, a 1998 MB LD, although it's hard to guess what year it is because the original paint job seems to last forever. We have run into the same problem on occasion when we are asked the age of our RV, primarily from upscale RV communities as found in Phoenix. They seem to prefer Class A motorhomes of recent vintage. I just make up an age now that is ten years old. That seems to be the magic cutoff. But for the most part, if they have to ask for age, we tend to move on to another RV Park.DavidOn Tuesday, February 25, 2014 3:45 PM, "chorst_2000@..." wrote:
