knob on shower faucet not lifting completly

the pull knob that converts the water to the shower when pulled up does not keep water from flowing from the faucet...We do get water to the shower but not as much..any suggestions how to correct this?

You like have a buildup of minerals in the shower head.  Try taking the shower head off the hose.  See if the flow is ok.  If yes try to back flush the the shower head. A good way to clean mineral deposits out of shower head is to soak it in a plastic container filled with vinegar, overnight usually does it.
