Chuck...a great place to find recent info for boondocking is at Day's End on the Escapees web site.  We have spent the past five years in the southwest during the winter (Arizona and Southern California) during Jan-March and there are places galore, many on BLM or State Park properties.  Never had any problems.  It's great to live off the grid!!!

Thank you Linda and David for those suggestions. I'd heard of the free camping sites but honestly have forgotten to use them most of the time. As for the Escapees resource, that's a new one to me and I'll definitely look into it. Thank you again.
