Fresh Water Pressure

I de-winterized my fresh water system yesterday morning.  Everything appeared normal as I cleared the pink anti-freeze from each faucet in turn.  Now, with the water pump on and drawing water from the fresh water storage tank,  I get very little water pressure when I turn either the cold or hot water faucets on in the bathroom sink.  All other faucets, hot and cold (shower, kitchen, and toilet) appear to produce normal pressure. I get both cold and hot water from all faucets as selected.  The weathert is freezing here alongside Ray Roberts Lake State Park in northeast Texas. My toad is coated with a half inch of ice. I am keeping the interior of the motorhome above sixty degrees.  Can anyone suggest a fix so that I can once again obtain normal water pressure from my bathroom sink faucets?

Nathan, We had a similar situation with our LD. I suspect you have some sentiment in your faucet head. If you unscrew the head of the faucet and remove any particles this may fix the problem.

Good luck,

I have had the same issue on our LD after de-winterizng it.  I removed the aerator at the end of the faucet and was able to run water fine.  Cleaned the bugger (aerator) then replaced it - all was normal.

Thanks for the help.  I believe that was the problem.  I haven't taken the screen out of the faucet yet but running a little hot water through it seems to have alleviated the problem.  Both cold and hot sides seem to be working properly.  Now if the weather here could be fixed that easily we could get on our way.

Nathan, as others have posted, the issue is most likely sediment on the screen at the end of the faucet... HOWEVER
There is another possibility.  There are also screens or filters where the hoses connect to the faucet.  Mine developed a collection of lime on the hot water side there.  If cleaning the screen at the end of the faucet nozzle does not fix the issue, try this.  Pull the cartridge, then fill the place where the cartridge was with white vinegar.  Let it sit for an hour, then put a cloth or towel over the cartridge area and have a helper turn the pump on, then off right away while you hold the towel in place.  That will flush out the vinegar and, hopefully, softened sediment at the lower screens.  Replace the cartridge and test.  Still no good?  Pull the cartridge again, remove the hoses, and hit the cartridge receiver with a jet of compressed air.  If you can, jet the air into the holes leading to the cartridge from the hoses.  You are trying to blow sediment out the bottom of the hose connections.
If that doesn't work, the only option remaining is to pull the faucet and use a probe of some sort to clean those lower screens, a hard job.

Good luck.

Clogging of the faucets upon de-winterizing is a common, and easily preventable, occurrence.

1) Before you blow out the fresh water lines, remove the faucet aeration screens. On the kitchen sink, I remove the hand held sprayer and on the shower, the hose/spray head. When you blow out the lines, you will see lots of chunks of the white "rock" come flying out. That's what clogs the faucets.
2) Reinstall all of the above once you're finished blowing the lines. That will keep dirt, insects, etc. from getting into the FW system while the unit is in storage.
3) After you re-fill the FW tank, remove all of the above once again. As the FW system is pressurized and run for the first time, more "rocks" will come out of the faucets as well as the HWH. This is also a good time to add bleach to the system to give the FW lines & tank it's annual cleaning.

Now your FW system is nice and clean and your faucets are not clogged.

Good tips, Ed .  Thanks .   I've added them to the Companion article on winterizing .
