I noticed a few here have them. I am looking for a simple and clean looking blog I can post a few pics, add a map maybe, and write a little about our journeys for friends and family.

I have seen blogger, wordpress, etc...any suggestions?

Hi Ted, I really like http://www.weebly.com .  It's free and super simple to use.  Very intuitive.  Lots of design choices.  Very easy to go in and add pictures or text anytime.

It's free to either use your own domain on, or you can just use a weebly domain.
I have a simple site for my business.  And thanks for reminding me ...I need to start a travel site too.

I have tried Wordpress and Blogger. Of the two, for me, Blogger is the easiest to use, whether by cell phone or by laptop.
If you use iPhone or iPad, there is a Blogger app that makes it EXTREMELY simple to take photos using iPhone or iPad and then upload to your blog, adding whatever amount of captions and text you wish.
I don't know about the other journal sites but suspect they provide similar types of easy interaction apps.
Are you planning to use your cell phone, tablet or laptop to handle your travel project?

I also use Blogger, but compose the posts first on Windows Live Writer. If you don't have an internet connection, you can just go back and publish it later when you do.

Ted,

Glad you found a good place for your blog. You probably already know this, but general "wisdom" is to make your posts _after_ you are back home, where ever that is. The idea is, don't advertise you are not at home. Of course, if you are fulltiming, this doesn't apply.
I hope you have a good time in you travels.

Thanks for that reminder Ken. Fortunately we have a friend who can house-sit for us but yes your advice is well taken!
