Generator shut down January 11, 2014, 02:01:28 pm Yahoo Message Number: 144470One of the things that Onan does not explain to well in there operators manual is how to stop the generator. They say to press the STOP switch. They do not say when to release the stop switch. To stop the gen you should only press and release the stop switch. DO NOT hold the stop switch in and wait till the gen stops. By doing a press and release the computer will take over and shut the gen down in the proper order. This makes a big difference to the restarting of the gen. Try is next time PRESS-RELEASE and the gen will SLOWLLY start to shut down. A friend that has a Big Foot camper with the same gen would some times turn my gen off after we made pop corn. I noticed that the gen would be hard to start the next time. After I told him about this he found that his gen was also easer to start when turned off in the right way.
