RV Hydro Flush - Does it Work With an Elbow December 09, 2013, 05:03:10 pm Yahoo Message Number: 143999Is anyone using the Valterra 45 Degree RV Hydro Flush with any success on a LD that has the 90 degree elbow in the drain pipe? I know this product works best with a straight shot into the tank, but our LD (2010 31' split bed)has an elbow. I searched through the forum, but couldn't find any specific comments about this product's performance in our situation. If needed, here is the link to the product at Camping World. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/rv-hydro-flush-45-degree/14496#sthash.sj48mDBE.dpbs

It doesn't work as well as in my older LD, which had a straight pipe going into the tank, but it's still quite effective. It certainly beats snaking a hose in through the bathroom window every time you dump! I haven't done that in years.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels
Re: RV Hydro Flush - Does it Work With an Elbow Reply #2 – December 10, 2013, 02:47:47 am Yahoo Message Number: 144012Hydro-flushes only work well when there is a straight shot into the tanks. When turns in the drain pipes are present, in-tank flushers can be used to clean the insides of the holding tank. The Campco flusher is commonly available and been used for years. Our LD has used a pair of them for ten years and seem to do a good job. http://www.amazon.com/Camco-40123-Quickie-Flush-Preventer/dp/B000EDOSME http://www.flickr.com/photos/lwade/sets/72157602104741465/If you have an old hydroflush, you can use it to make one of these. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lwade/sets/72157602095132874/Larry As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.

I've was going to build something like the link below until I saw this for about $20 at Cramping World: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/flexible-tank-wand/14497It works, but is still 'hose thru the window".... No seriously considering some of the alternatives mentioned in this thread. joelFrom: rivercrest99 To: lifewithalazydazerv@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, December 10, 2013 9:22 AM Subject: [LD] Re: RV Hydro Flush - Does it Work With an Elbow
Re: RV Hydro Flush - Does it Work With an Elbow Reply #6 – December 11, 2013, 09:28:11 pm Yahoo Message Number: 144038My vote is no. Three reasons:1. Hose through the window = pain in the ass.2. After you've used it, you now have this four-foot-long thing that has just been down the filthiest hole in the rig. What are you going to do with it? How are you going to store this large, crap-covered object in a sanitary fashion?3. Back when my Lazy Daze had a toilet that dumped straight down into the tank, I tried a straight wand of this general type. It was all but ineffective at cleaning the tank. Then the top fitting snapped off, spraying me and the bathroom with water until I could get outside to shut off the hose.I'll stick with my HydroFlush.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels
