Tacoma, WA to Florida - 210 around LA heads up

Being familiar with I-5 and I-15 in the LA/SoCal area, but unfamiliar driving 210, I went to bypass LA via 210 a couple months ago on the way to Santee/San Diego and then on to Orlando. After a long while (in the dark), a lighted tunnel suddenly appeared on a curve to the left and the road split. The one-way tunnel takes 210 under itself to the left (I now know) and another freeway-type road (134, I now know) takes the right lane. I saw no warning of this split and was on the right side of the road when I found myself going straight back to LA on a limited-access road. So, take the tunnel to the left, being careful with your lane change if you are in the right lane. Otherwise, continuing to the right will take you back to LA on 134. Fortunately for me, it was 3 a.m. with very little traffic.
When I finally ended up at I-5 again, I gave up, got on and continued south to San Diego. Until, that is, they detoured all traffic off I-5 to work on the 710 overpass in the middle of the same night, but provided no signs on how to get back to I-5 after the detour. I then found myself on 710 going to Long Beach. But, that is another story... So are San Antonio and Houston.

Some people are always finding themselves. Me, I do it on freeways.
