Cracked mirror on bathroom door

The mirror on the bathroom door of  our 2004 Twin/King LD is cracked and we need to replace it.  Any tips on how to get it off?  It has a thin plastic edge that goes around the mirror and elsewhere that does not seem easy to remove.

The good news is that it's already broken. Why is that good news? Because you'd probably have to break it anyway to get it off. ;-)

The mirror in my 1985 T/K was glued together as well as screwed to the wall. You didn't mention screws, though, so perhaps they had changed to just using glue? If so, your best bet is to slip a metal putty knife behind it and work your way around the edge until you get it loose. Warming it up with a hair dryer might help.

And then buy a bigger mirror... to cover the scars that your removal will leave behind.

Ugh.  I am not looking forward to this job.  Good point on getting a bigger mirror.  The mirror is so flat to the door that I wonder if I could just put a bigger mirror over it without removing the old one.  Probably not.
