26.5 IB Layout
Yahoo Message Number: 142589
Hi everyone, I posted the previous about purchasing a Lazy Daze. I have come across a 26.5 IB whereas the condition and the price are a great fit for us but is this unit? I have read a few previous messages but would like your thoughts as I understand these don't come as often due to the fact they are discontinued. We do want a 26.5 layout and as stated we have two young boys. Either this unit would be perfect, or we would be upset on the living area. We just want your thoughts. Thanks so much, Paul

As to living area, there ain't much. Trying to fit a full-time queen-sized bed in a 27-footer left very little space for daytime use. In fact, the 26.5' IB actually has less living area than a 23.5-footer. The kitchen has essentially zero counter space.

And some of the compromises made were not good ones, such as the "couch" that only seats one person unless you open it up, in which case it blocks the entry door...!

My personal feeling is that this floorplan is ill-suited to a family like yours. Take a look at the floorplan diagram in the Lazy Daze Pocket Guide and you'll get an idea of what I mean.

Here's a suggestion for picking a floorplan for family use.

Get a roll of painters masking tape and mark off the shape of the floorplan on the floor or driveway or somewhere.  Then pretend that the tape marks are walls and furniture, and walk around.

Whoever crashes least travels best.  :-)
