TV replacement for 20" Sharp September 04, 2013, 12:42:29 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1425032005 27' IB with entertainment center above cab. Has anyone replaced the analog 20" Sharp in the entertainment center with another TV without extensive modifications to the mounting hardware? If so which model did you use? Any additional tips on installation. I tried searching the various TV threads but no luck. Thank you.
Re: TV replacement for 20" Sharp Reply #1 – September 04, 2013, 08:01:24 pm Yahoo Message Number: 142515I did exactly that remodel in our 30ft IB. I found a 26" Samsung LED and it fits perfectly. The only mod needed was cutting off the vertical part of the "handle" at the bottom of the TV. The mounting holes are an industry standard. I also added a hardwired 400 watt inverter to power the TV and Direct Tv receiver.
Re: TV replacement for 20" Sharp Reply #2 – September 04, 2013, 10:34:21 pm Yahoo Message Number: 142517I really like the screen quality on Samsung but am concerned with speaker location. How well do the downward or rearward speakers work when mounted in the entertainment center? We do lot of dry camping so would rather not have to install external speakers. The only front facing speakers I've been able to find is on a Vizio. Unfortunately Vizio only makes a 24" then jumps to 29". The 29" is just too tall to fit in the space even with the handles cut off. Thank you.

Re: TV replacement for 20" Sharp Reply #5 – September 05, 2013, 07:03:13 am Yahoo Message Number: 142526Chris, What brand/model is that at Walmart? The web site doesn't list any Sharp TVs if that is what the subject line is implying. The web site don't seem to say whether their TVs have a brick & run off 12V or not. (I won't have access to a Walmart to look at them for a month or so.)Thanks.BarryFrom: Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2013 11:01 AM To:lifewithalazydazerv@yahoogroups.com Subject: [LD] RE: RE: TV replacement for 20" SharpFor what ever it is worth, I like 12 VDC TV and no inverter. Re: TV replacement for 20" Sharp Reply #7 – September 05, 2013, 10:45:51 am Yahoo Message Number: 142530We have a 30' IB as well, an 06. We replaced the 20" Sharp with the 26" Samsung LED just over a year ago. I selected it because it fit perfectly and had the best sound quality of the limited choices. I didn't want to install it as low as I could because of the bottom mounted speakers. I also didn't want to cut off the handle. We drilled new holes in the mounting plate and installed it just high enough to leave the handle intact. The end result turned out well.Jim C
