Lisa Sylvester (1960 - 2013)

Sylvester, Lisa DeMers Feb 11, 1960 - August 16, 2013 Lisa  DeMers Sylvester passed away in her sleep, August 16, 2013.
She was born February 11, 1960, in Saginaw, MI, to George and Dorothy DeMers. In Modesto, she attended Rose Avenue School, La Loma Jr. High, Thomas Downey High ('78), and Modesto Jr. College. Lisa graduated  Phi Beta Kappa, with honors from U.C. Berkeley in Business Admin.
Lisa is survived by mother Dorothy DeMers of Modesto, CA, her husband Michael A. Sylvester, brothers Douglas DeMers of Riverside WA, Greg DeMers of Modesto, CA, and her sister Debi Dix also of Modesto, CA.
After college, she worked for Paco Pumps in Oakland  for eight years and was promoted to CFO in Jan 1991.  Corporate merger brought her to Katy, TX, where she became VP of Finance. She married Michael A. Sylvester, June 2, 2001 and they moved to Albuquerque, NM to retire.   After 6 years they sold their house, became fulltime RVers, extensively traveling the US, Canada, and Alaska.
Lisa was an avid traveler and was always looking for new sights and adventures. She possessed an incredibly optimistic view of life and shared a deep love with her husband and her family. She loved life and would light up the room with her smile and laughter.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00am at Our Saviours Lutheran; 650 W. Las Palmas Ave.; Patterson, CA 95363.
Flowers are appreciated, but if you prefer you can also make a contribution in Lisa's name to the Salvation Army.

It breaks my heart that she was so young and vibrant.  I feel so for Mike and her family.

Just as I posted Lisa's obit, they started playing Garth Brooks' song "the Dance"...  tears are flowing.  I will miss Lisas' humor and smile.
