Doesn't it just crank open using the provided awning opening pole/rod? If that doesn't work, perhaps you can be more specific as to what the problem is. Is it stuck closed or what?

To be honest Chris, we have not really tried it out yet.  My neighbor came over and unclipped one of the clips, it was a little stuck but opened.  The awning we had on our last MH was a bit tricky, guess I was just concerned this may be the same.
