Water pump running August 21, 2013, 08:23:04 pm Yahoo Message Number: 142146Hi Joan. ianandjean. wrote: Should be able to hook up a little red pilot light to show when the pump is on. The green LED just lets you know that the pump can come on if the pressure drops. Ian and Jean were suggesting that a red LED could be added to show when the pump is actively pumping. Normally it would flash as the pump was operating, and on steadily would indicate someone was using water or the tank was out of water. This could also show a leak or faucet not off all the way. I can easily hear my pump running, so not a problem. Even when I've emptied and refilled the tank, I've been able to hear it cycling until it re-pressurized the system. I can hear mine (Whisper King) when it's actively pumping water, but I can see how a "warning light" would be useful if one wasn't able to hear the pump.Joan
Re: Water pump running Reply #2 – August 22, 2013, 12:02:28 am Yahoo Message Number: 142150I think the water pump thing hasn't changed since our 1967 Airstream. The 2008 Winnebago View was just the same. Do you know anybody with an RV? Usually the pump is accessible, and the on switch is automatic, switched on by the drop in pressure in the tank when you open the faucet. The problem is it won't turn off when all the water is gone.
