LD "New Style" Mirrors

When I was at the mothership looking at the new mid-bath, Todd specifically wanted to show me the mirrors. He was quite enthusiastic about them and how well they hinged forward and backward.  "There will be no 'exploding' mirrors." Someone in this group told me that they were Velvac 2020XG mirrors.
 I am not sure how long LD has been using these mirrors.  Today I saw an Itasca(?)Cambria that I estimated to be a couple of years old, and it appeared to have the same mirrors.  I would like to know what experience others have had with these mirrors; specifically with the remoted heated version?
