Has anyone replaced the black easy lock ring on the Marinco power cord? If so what procedure did you use?

I had to place a threaded ring instead of the quick lock on my 50 foot extension

I heated the plastic Marinco plug with a hair dryer set on "high," until it was soft enough to slip the black locking ring over the plug's flange.

Thanks to all that answered. Received an email from Marinco stating "When replacing the ring on the standard cord end one thing to try is to heat up the lip that the ring goes over  this will make it more pliable. Next  a little soap  helps  put it on one side and kind of twist/ screw it on  to get it over the other side."
