Metal Coach Door Catch!

Does anyone know where I could pickup a metal coach door catch for the main door on a '06 23.5 rig.  I have not yet contacted the plant as I am trying to find an easier fix.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks...............mike

And here's another question.....my 2008 has the metal coach door catch at the top of the door instead of in the middle where it used to be.  I find I have to really "slam" the door hard to get it to catch.  Is this normal?   Sooner or later something is going to break, probably the door!  Any suggestions?   Thanks,   Gale

What we do is to push high on the door to get it to latch with less force and twisting on the door. This is a more difficult leverage point for pushing, but the trick is to use just enough momentum from the door to get it to latch, always keeping a little pressure from your hand as high up as possible. Takes a little practice, but it works well.

I also would recommend spraying some silicon into the latch mechanism.  We had a problem with the door latch being hard to shut, and a quick spray of silicon seems to have solved the problem for now at least.

When we bought a metal clip from the factory to replace the plastic clips that kept breaking, we were advised to keep a little grease on it.  A lack of lubrication can cause the metal catch to eventually break.
