Manuals Online?

I got my LD recently and don't have an actual LD manual. Are these available anywhere online? I'd sure like to have one for reference. A mid-90s version would be ideal.

Thanks Matt

I had this same question last year while searching for a Lazy Daze.  I called the factory (Mothership) and was told they will sell a copy for $70.  No copies online due to copyrights.

It's too bad that Lazy Daze doesn't consider scanning their manuals and putting it one their website in a section that can be accessed only by LD owners.
Yes. When virtually all tech products have their manuals online, going back years in some cases, it's frustrating to not be able to get such an important document easily. $70 is way more than it should cost to reprint one, anyway.
While it is true that posting the manual online raises the risk of someone violating copyright laws, I can't seriously imagine that anyone but a dedicated owner would bother to print something like that out. Surely the competition has already inspected many LDs and knows basically how they are built, what accessories are included, etc. Copying the owner's manual would be next to useless in that situation.

I get the impression they're not concerned about features being copied--as you say, that's easy to do. They don't want the manual itself to be copied.
Few if any RV manuals are as complete as LD's. They don't just run down a list of features and appliances; they give all kinds of hint and tips for RVing. A lot of work goes into those manuals... and with the unfortunately widespread attitude that "if it's on the internet, it's up for grabs," it's easy to imagine a competitor downloading a copy, changing a word here and there, and passing it off as their own.
Sure, LD could sue... but it's a small company, and they have better things to do than spend money on lawyers. I think their main reason for not wanting manuals posted online is that they don't want to make it too easy to steal the contents.
However, Steve Newton has said that it's OK for owners to share copies of manuals with other owners. So if you need a manual for a specific year, post a query here, and with luck, somebody will come to your assistance.

Do they actually have you prove you are an owner before they'll sell you a copy of the manual?

I'm sure they want their $70 dollars but also being a new owner I was really surprised a PDF version was not posted by someone on-line.   Having said that I think this manual is really well written.  I camped

Thanks all. Fortunately I've been around the block with an RV or two but it would be a nice memento and the old dog just might learn something.

Absolutely just ask on this forum if you need a manual, as Andy mentioned.  You never know who has scanned it with their handy-dandy Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner and will gladly email you a copy directly.  Or has a "friend" who will do so...
By the way, have I mentioned lately how wonderful having all paperwork digitized is? Still promoting the paperless house (although I do keep hard copies

I believe Andy inquired a few years ago about having copies of the manuals available in the forum's files and was denied permission from LD.
So no online sources. While the Factory manuals are extremely useful, the electrical schematics are crude and provide very basic information about the wiring. Same for the plumbing plumbing systems.
You can find part and repair information on the appliances by Goggling the make, model and serial number. All sorts of information is available with a little searching.
There might be a member who have scanned their manual and might send you a copy. Don't know of any offhand.

That's great news! The last I heard, they weren't letting anybody do that, so this is a great improvement. I certainly understand about copyright issues, and I would not want to damage the company's position.
It's just so difficult to find these anywhere, that being able to access them online would be great.

I found the manual really helpful.... It's really something you want to read cover-to-cover a couple of times.
The keeper of the things to check in buying a used LD list in the Files section should add Secure the Owner's Manual. Tho I am not at all sure how many buyers see that list before they buy.

If you buy new, LD sends you a manual a month or so before delivery and strongly requests that you read it cover-to-cover. We did and scan it every other year to remind ourselves of things we have forgotten.
I would not buy an LD without the manual. Not so much for my use, but because if the seller had not read it, they really don't know much about an LD so why should I trust them.

I was really impressed with the manual.  It is well written, and covers some of the third party appliances better than their own manuals (example Dometic Heat Pump).  I refer to it all the time, stuff like getting the drawers out, trailer wire connector, etc.
Too bad the don't put it online.  It is a real feather in their cap.  It may be a bit much to do retroactively but they can start now :)
