Fluorescent Fixture - Inspired LEDs Vs ebay LEDs ???
Yahoo Message Number: 137212
Hi All,

RE: Fluorescent Fixture LED
Does anyone (Andy?) know if any of the ebay LED strip reels correspond well to the cool white Inspired Ultra Bright LEDs???
I have another brand of LED installed in a fluorescent fixture and don't like them compared to the Insprired Ultra Bright LEDs (42 LEDs per strip). The other brand is too blue and has a larger power drain per strip.
I like the Inspired cool white color, light output and power consumption, but they are a LOT more expensive than the ebay LEDs.
I'm also buying a butane soldering iron like Andy describes.  I was having lotsa trouble with both of my soldering irons (one high and one low output) producing anything other than a cold solder joint or a burned strip.

Thanks for your help, Bob

LEDs are available in various colors, rated by the Kevin temperature.
Blue-white LEDs are in the 4000+-6000 K range, while the warmer colors are below 4000 K. The Ebay rolls are available in several colors.
I bought a roll of the warm-whites LEDs, rated at 3200K, and they are similar to the warm-white Inspired LEDs. A good deal for $12.25 shipped.
We found the Inspired Ultra Bright cool-white LEDs to be much too blue for our preferences. I have found that mixing both the warm and cool-white LEDs can provide the perfect combination for most people's tastes.
You will need a low-wattage soldering iron for making the connections to the LED strips. It is easy to overheat the circuit board with too powerful an iron.
