a holder for iPhones and GPS

The rubber suction cup that attach my wife's GPS to her windshield does not stay on and the dash has to much a slope for it to just sit there.  My daughter has the same problem with her car.  I have not had as much a problem in the LD but have in other cars.
I came across the Mountek MT5000 while searching on Amazon for a possible solution for my wife and daughter.  The user reviews were good so I ordered one.

For a test run I installed it in the MINI Cooper and attached a Garmin 3590 to it.   The Cooper is very tightly sprung.  The ride is every bit as hard if not harder than the Lazy Daze.  I took off on some secondary roads as well as the interstate destined to the storage lot where we keep the Lazy Daze.  The assembly worked very well.  It was a little hard to read on the bumpy parts but most of the time worked very well.  It never came out of the slot and never dropped the GPS or iPhone.  I would remove it before going on very rough roads or taking corners with more G force but for daily driving the Mountek was just the ticket.
I am very impressed with the devise. It is well made and easy to use.  Pictures for those interested have been posted at the below site.

The down sides.  I was hoping that it would hold my XM Rodie 2 receiver.  It will not, the XM receiver is just shaped wrong.  Also my Garmin has an external carrier that has an additional speaker and charging usb port on the back.  That charging port needs to be removed which requires me to use a USB cable to charge the Garmin.  When doing this I loose the ability to receive traffic updates.  That is not a big issue for me, but thought it should be mentioned. These are minor issues and are not the type of equipment the MT5000 was designed to hold.   I might take one apart to see if I can modify it to hold the XM receiver.
It is a great phone holder for someone that no longer uses the CD slot (me).
