We were at the Mothership today, Tod stated that they are now installing AGM batteries as the routine.

Bob, I think the question is is LD replacing the Ford truck standard -issue battery with an AGM battery. Is this what you mean or are your referring to the two now standard-issue AGM house batteries for the coach?

Just to clarify: did Tod specifically say that they are installing an AGM *starting/engine* battery as well as AGM house batteries? We know that AGM house batteries have been standard at LD for a couple of years now, but it's the starting battery that this discussion is concerned with.

Did they mention why they were doing that? Perhaps to match the charging characteristics of the house and vehicle batteries when driving?

--- In the coach, yes, but in the *engine*, too, i.e., replacing the Ford OEM starting battery with an AGM?

--- I posted the answer to this question a few hours ago, but, so far, it hasn't appeared; trying again.
I spoke with Vince at the factory, and his answer was that LD *does not* replace the OEM engine battery with an AGM. ¡Ya basta! ;-)

The person who originally told me they had an AGM battery in a 2001 LD has written to say that it isn't one after all. I think that and the official word from Vince put this rumor to rest. :-)
